Kamaru Usman Calls Ciryl Gane the Most Dynamic Heavyweight Ever

Kamaru Usman has declared that Ciryl Gane is the most dynamic heavyweight the sport has ever seen. Usman made his case on his “Pound 4 Pound” podcast, arguing that Gane’s unique skillset and movement are unparalleled in the heavyweight division. Gane is set to defend his heavyweight title against Josh Hokit at UFC 334 on Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York, which will be streamed on Paramount+.

Usman’s Assessment of Gane

While other fighters like Chris Weidman and Jorge Masvidal are siding with Hokit, Usman sees Gane’s well-rounded abilities as being too much for his opponent. Honestly, I don’t think we’ve ever seen a heavyweight ever as dynamic as Ciryl Gane, Usman said. We’ve never seen that. We’ve never seen a heavyweight that could float around the octagon like that – switch stance, kick, elbow, knee, do it all and still be able to have a submission threat.

Comparing Heavyweight Greats

Usman did acknowledge other notable heavyweights in his analysis. Listen, as far as power, Francis Ngannou is probably the most dangerous heavyweight we’ve ever seen. And then you’ve got other guys that have been great champions. Cain Velasquez was an amazing heavyweight, he stated. Despite this praise for other champions, Usman maintained his high regard for Gane’s current fighting style. I just think Ciryl Gane is the most dynamic heavyweight we’ve ever seen.

Prediction for the Title Fight

Usman ultimately predicted that Gane would be victorious over the undefeated Hokit. I just think the experience, how Ciryl Gane is fighting right now, I don’t see Josh Hokit getting it done, he said. Usman did credit Hokit’s success, mentioning his recent financial gains and lifestyle, but concluded, but I just believe Ciryl Gane gets it done. Gane, who knocked out Alex Pereira at UFC Freedom 250, is a moderate favorite over Hokit for the upcoming title bout.
