Mamma Mia! Tickets on Sale for May 2027 Des Moines Run

Single tickets for Mamma Mia! at Des Moines Civic Center are now on sale

Des Moines Performing Arts has announced that single tickets are officially available for the upcoming engagement of Mamma Mia! at the Des Moines Civic Center. According to a report from BroadwayWorld, the production is scheduled to run from May 4 through May 9, 2027. This announcement marks the beginning of the ticketing window for a musical that has maintained a massive global footprint since its initial London premiere in 1999.

The 25th Anniversary production of Mamma Mia! returned to Broadway in August 2025 for a limited six-month engagement at the Winter Garden Theatre. This run was particularly notable as the Winter Garden Theatre served as the site of the show’s original Broadway opening in 2001, where it eventually played for a record-breaking 14 years across both the Winter Garden and the Broadhurst Theatre.

Since its debut, the show has been staged in 50 different productions across 16 languages, grossing more than $7 billion at the box office. The narrative, which centers on a mother, daughter, and three potential fathers on a Greek island, is driven by the music of ABBA. Beyond the stage, the brand expanded into cinema with two films: Mamma Mia!, which became the highest-grossing live-action musical film upon its 2008 release, and the 2018 sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, which holds the record as the most successful live musical movie sequel of all time.
