Michael Rodrigue, Jr., a native of New Orleans and resident of Harvey, Louisiana, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 26, 2026, at the age of 43, according to Davis Mortuary Service.

Known as a man of few words whose steady presence offered constant comfort to those around him, Rodrigue built a life grounded in practical skill and quiet dedication. At the time of his passing, he was expanding his technical repertoire by enrolling at Delgado Community College to pursue certification as an HVAC technician. He already held professional certifications as a welder and a forklift operator.

Beyond his formal credentials, Rodrigue possessed an extensive suite of self-taught trades. He routinely worked with carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, and electrical systems, applying a hands-on work ethic to everyday projects.

He leaves behind his children, Michael Rodrigue, III and Leah Rodrigue. He was the beloved son of Demetria (Grant) Anderson and Michael Rodrigue, Sr. (Lesia). His family tree includes his late grandparents, James Wallis, Mary Lee Oxley, Lorraine “Rainey” Hughes, Jake Bell, and Gertie John.

He is also survived by his nine siblings: Monique (Glen) Marshall, Monica (Wendell) Hunt, Myeisha Bowman, Myrione Rodrigue, Miresha Frazier, Mitisha Frazier, Andrea (Brandon) Nunnery, Miranika Frazier, and Malik Rodrigue, alongside a wide circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Celebration of Life and Final Arrangements at Cross Community Church

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Davis Mortuary Service, located at 230 Monroe St. in Gretna, Louisiana. Family, friends, pastors, officers, and members of Cross Community Church—along with neighboring congregations—are invited to gather for final farewells.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Cross Community Church, situated at 3233 Ames Blvd. in Marrero, Louisiana. A celebration of life service will follow immediately at the church at 12:00 noon.
