Midwest City Achieves Official Oklahoma Film Friendly Certification

Midwest City, Oklahoma, has officially become the 46th community to receive Oklahoma Film Friendly Certification from the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO). This designation signifies the city is open and prepared to host film and television productions, joining a network of Oklahoma communities aiming to attract creative industry projects.

The certification, achieved through the Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program, is designed to raise Midwest City’s profile among filmmakers, encourage local business involvement, and support economic development in the creative sectors. Combined with Oklahoma’s film incentives and statewide production resources, the new status provides another avenue for the city to showcase its media-friendly environment.

Mayor’s Vision for the Certification

We value the efforts of the Oklahoma Film + Music Office and others in recruiting and welcoming new film and TV projects to Oklahoma, and we are thankful that Midwest City has been able to play a role in hosting several of those productions, said Midwest City Mayor Richard R. Rick Rice. We hope becoming a film friendly certified community will only increase the opportunities to expose our media friendly community to the rest of the world.
