MoDOT Announces St. Louis Work Zones: Nov 5-11 Closures and Lane Restrictions

St. Louis Drivers Face Heavy Work Zone Closures November 5-11 as I-70 Wentzville Ramps Reopen

Weather permitting, the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Design-Build Project team will reopen the westbound Interstate 70 entrance and exit ramp to David Hoekel Parkway in the city of Wentzville overnight on Thursday, November 5. The ramps were shut down for 30 days to pave the third lane of westbound I-70. Drivers should buckle their seat belts, stay alert in work zones, follow the posted work zone speed limit, and allow extra time for travel. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change. For construction-related road closures, extra work zone details, and live roadway weather conditions, visit http://traveler.modot.org/map. For real-time traffic, visit www.gatewayguide.com. Motorists should be aware of the following ongoing closures: I-44, St.

MoDOT reported that the week of November 5 through November 11 will bring a mix of daytime lane closures and overnight full or partial shutdowns on major arteries including I-64, I-70, I-55, Route 67, and Route 370. Motorists heading into St. Charles County will face weekday full road closures on outer highways and nightly lane restrictions on the interstates. City and county drivers will face single-lane traffic jams on Route D, Route 231, and Route 340. All work remains weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

Wentzville and St. Charles County: Nights Belong to the Construction Crews

Starting Monday, all lanes on Civic Center Drive between Prospect Road and Cedar Circle will close weekdays through November, reopening only on weekends. The Foristell north outer road between Obrien Lane and N. Stringtown Lane Road follows the same weekday-only closure schedule through the month.

Overnight, I-70 sees single-lane closures in both directions from Foristell to Wentzville between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., with an additional closure from Wentzville Parkway to Route A from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. I-64 in the county faces a complex slate of restrictions, including left-lane closures between the Missouri River and Route 364, and separate eastbound and westbound lane closures between Prospect Road and Route K. The ramp connecting westbound I-64 to eastbound I-70 remains closed through mid-November.

The Route 370 Discovery Bridge across the Missouri River continues its traffic shift, with two westbound lanes moved to the eastbound side and two eastbound lanes shifted right, divided by temporary barriers. Route 94 loses a left-turn lane for the eastbound 370 on-ramp through late 2027, and nighttime closures continue on I-64/Route 61 between I-70 and Prospect Road.

St. Louis City and County: Daytime Bottlenecks and Long-Term Projects

Route D in St. Louis City closes one lane between Skinker and Tucker from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Monday. I-44 westbound express lanes and the Broadway exit remain closed, as does the westbound I-70 Broadway entrance ramp.

St. Louis County drivers should plan for ongoing single-lane closures on Route 67 at Route D, where loop ramps in both directions are shut, and where one lane in each direction closes from the Missouri River to just north of Route 94 through late 2027. Route 100 faces dual stretches of lane closures, one from Mason Lane to Barrett Station Road through late 2026 and another from Weidman Road to Manchester Meadows through spring 2027. Route 366, Route 340, and Route 231 all have daily lane closures during daytime hours, with Route 231 also having overnight lane closures from I-255 to Blackforest Drive and from the Meramec River to Blackforest Drive.

I-170 remains a long-term headache, with one lane closed northbound and southbound from Natural Bridge Road to St. Charles Rock Road until late spring 2027. Night work on I-64 in the county includes up to two westbound lanes closed from I-270 to Chesterfield Parkway and from Chesterfield Parkway to the Missouri River Bridge, plus left-lane closures between Mason and the river bridge.

Highway Lane and Ramp Closures Detailed

I-55 loses one lane in each direction from Meramec Bottom to Route 141, while the southbound on and off ramps to Route Z are closed. Route Z itself has all interior lanes closed under I-55, leaving one lane open in each direction. Route 61/67 faces lane closures from Brandon Wallace Way to 6th/8th Street through summer 2027, and the ramp from southbound Route 67 to Route CC stays closed until mid-November.

Thursday and Friday bring specific daytime work on Route 30 between Old Sugar Creek Road and Route BB, and nightly southbound lane closures on I-55 between the Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific railroad bridges.

Drivers Advised on Real-Time Travel Planning

With so many moving pieces, MoDOT urges drivers to check real-time conditions before leaving. For comprehensive roadway closure information and current weather conditions, visit traveler.modot.org/map. Real-time traffic updates are available at www.gatewayguide.com.

The department emphasizes that all schedules are weather-permitting and subject to change. Drivers are encouraged to wear seat belts, pay close attention in work zones, obey posted speed limits, and allow extra time for travel. The density of closures this week—from the I-70 third-lane project in Wentzville to lane shifts on the Discovery Bridge across the Missouri River—means motorists should allow extra time for travel.
