Old School RuneScape Announces Menaphos and Raids IV at RuneFest

Old School RuneScape players will finally enter Menaphos, tackle Raids IV, and experience a Mining and Smithing rework following a RuneFest keynote announcement.

Kharidian Questline Reaches Menaphos

At RuneFest, the announcement of a fresh chapter in the Kharidian questline revealed that Old School RuneScape users will soon gain access to Menaphos. Although Menaphos arrived in the game back in 2005 and its companion city Sophanem has remained open ever since, Menaphos itself has stayed locked away. RuneScape 3 welcomed players into Menaphos back in 2017 with an area that felt like a dream for skillers, sparking some jealousy among OSRS players.

Players must finish a brand-new quest before they can gain entry to the Imperial District of Menaphos, which houses the authentic Soul Altar alongside the title’s initial Skilling Dungeon and an extra Cactus Patch.

Raids IV and Fairy Tale III Headlining the Quest Slate

The showcase began with additional information regarding Raids IV, known as The Fractured Archive, which is designed to become the most difficult Raid introduced so far. A large portion of the subsequent reveals centered on narrative content, offering further details about the upcoming Goblin story, The Chosen Commander, meant to wrap up Zanik’s arc, alongside the long-awaited finale to the Fairy narrative via Fairy Tale III – Nexus of Power.

While the Fairy series wrapped up long ago in RuneScape, it has sat on an unresolved cliffhanger within OSRS since the game launched in 2013, though Nexus of Power is set to deliver an entirely unique narrative.

As if that weren’t sufficient, November is bringing Quest Month, an event that will introduce several smaller adventures to the title on a weekly basis throughout the entire month.

Mining, Smithing, and Hardcore Worlds Coming Next Month

The upcoming Dungeons of Gielinor patch will bring a massive variety of fresh adversaries to the title, spanning from entry-level bosses designed for newcomers up to encounters meant for experienced veterans. Even so, the tough variants of those starter bosses aim to turn straightforward combat encounters into intense tests, much like the bovine boss Brutus.

Plans for a much-anticipated Mining and Smithing overhaul were verified, accompanied by a commitment to fulfill the early visions of Tutorial Island. Crafting equipment and gear will now align more closely with user advancement by unlocking at significantly reduced levels, ensuring they become accessible when they match your combat progression.

Hardcore Worlds, being introduced on November 4, will provide the bravest and indeed most competent players a new way to enjoy the game. These will be dedicated worlds with a separate economy, where every player has just one life available. This specific ruleset will result in a completely distinct marketplace where goods may hold vastly different values compared to standard servers. Progress from Hardcore Worlds will also transfer over to the main games if and when you eventually die.
