OneLife LA 2027 to be Held in Los Angeles With Speaker Father Rocky

As Respect Life Month concludes across Southern California, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles has set its sights on the calendar for early 2027. The Office of Life, Justice & Peace announced that the annual OneLife LA program and Walk for Life will return to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, January 23, 2027.

Now in its 13th year, the gathering marks another milestone for an initiative first celebrated on January 17, 2015. The event brings together participants to promote a culture valuing human life from conception to natural death.

Building a Culture of Life in Downtown Los Angeles

Archbishop José H. Gomez emphasized the ongoing mission of the annual gathering as preparations begin for the 2027 program.

“OneLife is a vision for a new way of living, a culture of life, a society where every life is sacred, and every life is cared for,” said Archbishop José H. Gomez. “Let’s keep going, always forward, as the saints say. We cannot rest until every human life is cherished — protected by our laws and treated with compassion and cared for in our society.”

The upcoming afternoon program features prominent speakers, including Father Francis J. “Father Rocky” Hoffman, chairman and CEO of Relevant Radio and new president and rector of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion.

“When we stand up for the unborn, we make Jesus happy because He said, ‘whatever you do for the least of my brethren you do unto me,’” said Fr. Hoffman. “Relevant Radio, the Family Rosary Across America, and The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion are honored to participate in OneLife LA this year.”

Guiding the afternoon events as emcee will be Fr. Matt Wheeler, who serves as pastor at Our Savior Parish & USC Caruso Catholic Center. The opening musical performance will be led by Southern California singer-songwriter, worship leader, and speaker Francis Cabildo, who holds a B.A. in theology from Catholic International University.

Community Service and the Requiem Mass

Beyond the scheduled speakers and musical acts, organizers are collaborating with dozens of community partners. Attendees are encouraged to sign up for hands-on service projects, including feeding the homeless, finding families for foster children, supporting pregnant women, and visiting the elderly.

The day’s events will conclude at the Cathedral with the annual “Requiem for the Unborn” Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Gomez. During the service, participants will light candles in remembrance of the babies lost to abortion daily in Southern California.
