Nashville Predators defeat Carolina Hurricanes 4-1 in Tennessee
Roman Josi and Ross Colton each recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Nashville Predators to a 4-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night, CBS Sports reported. The win marks two consecutive victories for Nashville, while simultaneously ending a four-game winning streak for Carolina.
The outcome was defined by Nashville’s ability to capitalize on transitional play, particularly through the vision of Filip Forsberg. The Predators’ offense found its rhythm early, fueled by a balanced scoring attack that saw Nick Perbix, Roman Josi, Adam Edstrom, and Ross Colton all find the back of the net.
The loss carries significant weight for Carolina’s goaltending corps. Pyotr Kochetkov, who had been on a historic tear, suffered his first loss of the season. Prior to this matchup, Kochetkov had become only the third goaltender in NHL history to win each of his first 10 games in a single season.
Forsberg and Josi drive Nashville offensive surge
Nashville established momentum with 8:28 remaining in the first period when Nick Perbix scored his first goal of the season. The play began when Filip Forsberg stripped the puck from Carolina’s Sean Walker, allowing Forsberg to slide a cross-ice pass to Perbix as he moved down the right side. Perbix then snapped a wrist shot past Kochetkov to open the scoring.
Forsberg continued to exert influence on the game, extending his streak to five consecutive games with at least one point. His playmaking was on full display during the second period when Roman Josi doubled the Nashville lead at the 3:39 mark. In a sequence mirroring the opening goal, Josi skated down the left side and received a cross-ice pass from Forsberg for a tap-in.
Carolina managed to narrow the gap at 10:28 of the second period. Jackson Blake scored after his initial shot was blocked by Josi; Blake then corralled the rebound and lifted a backhand past Nashville goaltender Juuse Saros. The goal extended Blake’s point-scoring streak to a career-high seven games, during which he has accumulated three goals and six assists.

Late scoring secures Nashville win
The third period saw Nashville extend their cushion when Adam Edstrom scored at 5:40. This goal marked Edstrom’s sixth of the season, establishing a new career high for the player. To finalize the score, Ross Colton added an empty-net goal in the final minute of play.
Juuse Saros provided a steady presence for the Predators, making 29 saves to stifle the Hurricanes’ comeback attempts. On the other side, Kochetkov was held to 16 saves as Carolina struggled to find consistent offensive pressure against the Nashville defense.
The Hurricanes will look to rebound as they prepare to visit the New York Islanders on Thursday. The Predators move on to face Colorado on Thursday night.
