Privateers Compete In Old Westbury Halloween Invitational – Maritime College Athletics

Privateer Men Capture Team Title at Old Westbury Halloween Invitational

Following a third-place finish at the Skyline Conference Championships, the Maritime College cross country teams traveled to compete in the Old Westbury Halloween Invitational on Friday, October 30, 2026. Facing off against Old Westbury and Yeshiva on a short course, the Privateer men secured first place overall, while the women’s squad finished third in a larger field that included the University of Bridgeport, according to maritimeathletics.com.

Skyline champion Chase Miller of West Islip, New York, led the charge for the men’s team by capturing his fifth victory. Miller completed the 4,000-meter course in 15:30. Teammate Dylan Leddy of Delhi, New York, crossed the finish line shortly after, taking fourth place overall with an 18:16 mark.

Tight Pack Racing Propels Maritime Men

Depth proved decisive for the Privateers as a tight cluster of runners secured the team victory. Maritime’s next seven competitors finished within a span of just seven seconds. Logan Bujold of Connetquot, New York, claimed 10th place with a time of 21:30. Dominick Milone of Rockville Centre, New York, followed immediately in 11th at 21:31, and Angus Queen of Mamaroneck, New York, took 12th in 21:32.

Altogether, the Privateer men tallied 38 points to edge out the Maccabees of Yeshiva with 45 points and the Panthers of Old Westbury with 49 points. In head-to-head scoring matchups between the competing institutions, Maritime swept both of its dual-meet contests.

Women’s Squad Claims Third Behind Chen’s Strong Showing

In the women’s race, which featured Bridgeport alongside the conference rivals, Cindy Chen of Huntington Station, New York, posted an 18:39 finish to grab second place overall. Eily Kochon of Ulster Park, New York, followed in seventh place with a 21:06 clocking, while Emily Bryant of Hilliard, Ohio, secured ninth in 23:54.

Rounding out the scoring for the Privateer women were DoriEllen Padden of Palm City, Florida, taking 14th at 26:41, and Olivia Capobianco of Massapequa, New York, finishing 15th in 26:43. Maritime accumulated 47 points, finishing just one point behind Old Westbury, which scored 46 for second place, while Bridgeport led the team standings with 42 points. Because Bridgeport competes as a Division II program, official Skyline head-to-head scoring counted only contests among conference members, leaving Maritime with a 1-1 record against Old Westbury and Yeshiva.

The Privateers turn their attention next to the annual ECAC North Championships. That meet is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, New York.
