Tata Motors Introduces the Safari.ev Flagship

Tata Motors is lining up the Safari.ev to serve as its flagship electric vehicle as early as November. Once introduced, the Altroz will remain the company’s sole model without an electric alternative, following recent domestic passenger vehicle sales near 2 lakh units in Q2 FY27, which included over 47K+ EVs sold. Designed for large groups, the upcoming three-row electric SUV will compete directly with the Mahindra XEV 9S and the MG Hector Tomahawk EV, offering buyers a choice of six and seven seats.

Spy shots reveal an interior equipped with three dashboard displays, including a dedicated passenger touchscreen that allows front occupants to control music, operate navigation, play games, and watch videos. Ride comfort is expected to benefit from an independent rear suspension. Underneath, Tata Motors plans to provide standard-range rear-wheel drive, extended-range rear-wheel drive, and extended-range all-wheel drive configurations. The middle configuration is projected to deliver a travel range of approximately 600 kilometres on a single charge.

Honda Prepares Its First Made-in-India EV From the 0 Alpha Concept

Honda will pull the wraps off its first made-in-India electric car on December 2, with a market launch anticipated in January 2027. Derived from the 0 Alpha concept, the vehicle takes the form of a midsize SUV featuring a swoopy exterior built for high aerodynamic efficiency and strong road presence. Inside, it breaks from current Honda models sold in India by adopting a flat-bottomed steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a tablet-like touchscreen infotainment system.

The lineup is expected to feature two single-motor front-wheel drive variants equipped with 65-75 kWh LFP battery packs. The top-tier configuration targets a driving range of around 650 kilometres.

Hyundai Set to Reveal the Boxy HE1i Compact SUV

Rounding out the year, Hyundai will unveil an all-electric compact SUV codenamed HE1i later in December. Styled with a boxy and rugged exterior to project an authentic SUV stance, the vehicle incorporates futuristic elements such as Hyundai’s signature pixel-themed lights.

The cabin introduces the brand’s new global interior design language, pairing a slim 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster with a 12.9-inch tablet-style touchscreen infotainment system. Hyundai confirmed that the HE1i will come equipped with Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems. Buyers will have a choice between two battery pack options utilizing cells sourced from China’s Svolt, with the larger unit designed to travel roughly 500 kilometres on a full charge.
