Utah State and Boise State Share Pac-12 Women’s Soccer Title; Aggies Clinch Top Seed

Utah State and Boise State Share Pac-12 Crown as Championship Seeding Locks

No. 22 Utah State and Boise State finished the regular season locked together at the top of the conference table, sharing the Pac-12 regular season title after matching victories on Thursday night, pac-12.com reported. Both squads wrapped up identical 6-1-1 conference records, earning 19 points apiece to separate themselves from the rest of the league. Yet the tiebreaker belonged entirely to the Aggies, courtesy of a gritty 1-0 victory over the Broncos back on October 11 in Boise.

That head-to-head advantage handed Utah State the coveted top seed for the upcoming Pac-12 Women’s Soccer Championship. The tournament is scheduled to kick off in Logan, Utah, bringing high-stakes postseason soccer to Chuck and Gloria Bell Field.

Thursday Night Deciders in Logan and Boise

Utah State secured its share of the crown by defeating San Diego State 2-0 on Thursday night, breaking open a scoreless deadlock behind second-half goals from Kate Christian and Kei Yoneda. Meanwhile, Boise State locked down its piece of the title earlier in the evening with a narrow 1-0 win at home against Washington State, fueled by a 77th-minute strike from Cindy Conner.

Further down the standings, Gonzaga claimed the fourth and final tournament spot by edging Oregon State 1-0 at home on goals from Samantha Snorsky and Amelia Severn.
