Viral Creator Hannah Young Visits Days of Our Lives in Secret Salem Role

by

Social media creator Hannah Young, known for her viral video championing soap operas, visited the set of Days of Our Lives for a secret role after the show reached out to her directly. Young documented her trip to Salem, where she met daytime legend Deidre Hall, who portrays Marlena Evans, and teased that she might be playing the character’s daughter.

The visit began after Young’s popular video, in which she humorously detailed her love for soap tropes like amnesia and evil twins, gained significant traction online. Days of Our Lives, slid into my DMs and said, ‘We’d love to have you visit Salem.’ she shared. I’ll be right there! she responded. A longtime fan who once pretended to be Marlena’s daughter, Belle, in AOL chat rooms, Young went to Salem looking for an evil twin, a long-lost parent, a husband who died 10 years ago, has amnesia and has recently returned with a different face.

A Salem Dream Come True

Young’s visit was a full-circle moment for the creator. She posted a carousel of photos from her trip, with one caption reading, I MET MARLENA EVANS. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! She thanked the entire @dayspeacock team and everyone who made me feel so welcome in Salem. I may never leave. While she joked about potentially being Marlena’s new daughter—I haven’t heard from the writers yet, she admitted—she also posted a video meeting actor Greg Rikaart (Leo), who promised she would experience all the soap tropes. In a playful exchange with the show’s official Instagram, which called her part of the Salem family, Young asked, How many families in Salem did my DNA test come back matching? to which the account replied, No comment.

A Role in Salem

Although Young kept the specifics of her guest role under wraps, sources indicate she is indeed appearing on the show. Her social media posts hinted at a storyline, with one caption joking, I’ve already had a DNA test and developed amnesia. The visit follows a trend of Days of Our Lives welcoming high-profile guests, such as John Oliver, and now, a creator whose genuine love for the genre has reached a massive online audience.
