Blackpink’s Rose is teaming up with Apple for her upcoming single New Trick
, filmed entirely with the iPhone 18 Pro and directed by Dave Meyers. Announced on September 10, 2026, the track arrives ahead of its South Korean release on September 18, shifting away from the slower pace of her debut solo album.
The iPhone 18 Pro Collaboration and Music Video Direction
Blackpink member Rose is expanding her creative footprint through a high-profile partnership with Apple for her upcoming song New Trick, which was officially announced by her agency, The Black Label, on September 10, 2026. The production marks a continuation of Apple’s ongoing promotional strategy, building directly on the brand’s high-profile Shot on iPhone campaign.
To helm the visual direction, the project enlisted American music video director Dave Meyers. Meyers brings established K-pop pedigree to the collaboration, having previously directed the video for Blackpink’s chart-topping 2025 single Jump.
The announcement arrived alongside a 15-second visual teaser shared on Instagram. The clip features the singer holding a purple lollipop stamped with the words new trick
and Shot on iPhone 18 Pro
.
Musical Shift and Creative Evolution
The upcoming single represents a distinct sonic pivot for the artist. Following the melancholic tone that characterized her 2024 debut solo album Rosie, Rose told Vogue that the new material was written days after the Met Gala in New York in May.

“Ultimately, we successfully wrote something so not sad, and I think it is possibly the cutest thing we’ve ever made together… Maybe Apt. is the cutest, but y’all can judge that for me!”
Rose, Singer
Teasers released by Rose and Apple on Instagram reveal lines including, Lovesick, I’ll take my heart off the floor, new trick, watch this, watch this.
The release follows her massive global success alongside Bruno Mars on the hit collaborative track APT.
Apple Hardware Launch Integration
Alongside the unveiling of the iPhone 18 Pro, Apple’s event introduced the iPhone Duo, AirPods 5, and the Apple Watch Series 12.
Fans awaiting the full release can expect the track to drop in South Korea on September 18.
