Carson City Salon to Host Fundraiser for Family of Dante Williams

“As a mother, I cannot begin to imagine the heartbreak of losing a child,” salon owner Kiera Harrison said as the Carson City community rallies to support a local family.

The Carson City community is coming together to honor the life of 19-year-old Dante Ontario Jiavonni Williams, who passed away on Sept. 27, 2026, carsonnow.org reported. Born July 27, 2007, at Carson Tahoe Hospital, Dante grew up locally, attending Fritsch Elementary School, Seeliger Elementary School, Eagle Valley Middle School, and Carson High School for his freshman and sophomore years before later moving to Fernley and Reno.

Small Town, Big Hearts on East William Street

To support his grieving family, The Beachin’ Hair Cove at 1801 E. William Street, Suite F, is hosting a community fundraiser titled “Small Town, Big Hearts — A Community Fundraiser in Loving Memory of Dante.” The event runs Sunday, Nov. 8, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Visitors can stop by for walk-in haircuts priced at $20 for children and $25 for adults, with three stylists providing services throughout the day without requiring prior appointments. A bake sale featuring donated homemade goods will run alongside the salon services.

Local Businesses Donate Prizes for Community Raffle

Organizers have assembled an extensive raffle featuring gift baskets, gift certificates, and services contributed by local businesses and individuals. Raffle tickets cost $5 each, five for $20, or an arm’s length for $30, with cash, Venmo, and Zelle accepted.

Additional contributions feature a lemon kitchen gift basket, a blue butterfly and sunflower self-care basket, a full nail set from Amanda McQueary, and a $250 family photography package from Photos by Perspective Photography including a one-hour session valid for one year.

Other community contributors listed by carsonnow.org include Magical Moments and Shades of Jade Wellness, alongside Papa’s Pooch Parlor. Remote participants can purchase tickets via social media by messaging organizers directly, who send photographs of completed tickets to confirm entries.

Support and Next Steps

All proceeds from the haircuts, bake sale, and raffle tickets will go directly toward supporting Dante’s family. Winners of the raffle drawings will be announced on Monday, Nov. 9, 2026.

“Whether someone comes for a haircut, purchases a raffle ticket, donates baked goods, or simply stops by to show support, every act of kindness matters,” Harrison said.
