Ennis Entrepreneur Michelle Cotter Raises €1.4m for Juritas

Michelle Cotter Secures €1.4 Million Pre-Seed Funding for Juritas

An Ennis entrepreneur has closed a €1.4 million pre-seed funding round for her Stockholm-based contract intelligence company, Juritas. Michelle Cotter, a former student at St Flannan’s with a BA from Mary Immaculate College and an MBS in International Entrepreneurship Management from UL, founded the contract intelligence company earlier this year after spending over a decade working in the technology sector.

The Bottom Line:

  • Juritas raised €1.4 million in pre-seed funding led by Passion Capital, with participation from Blackwood, Araya Ventures, Baseline, Angel Invest, and the byFounders Angel Collective.
  • The capital will fund engineering team expansion in Stockholm, product acceleration, and enterprise-grade security infrastructure.
  • The platform targets post-signature contract analysis to capture missed financial value, including unclaimed discounts, supplier commitments, renewals, and obligations.

Engineering Expansion and Enterprise Security in Stockholm

The newly secured capital will directly target product development and engineering capacity at the company’s Stockholm headquarters. Cotter brings over a decade of operational experience to the venture, having previously held leadership roles at legal AI company Legora, Revolut and Epidemic Sound. Her background spans the tech industry, positioning Juritas to tackle what is described as a blind spot in enterprise software.

“I’ve sat across the table from some of the world’s largest organisations, and I’ve seen the same pattern every time: teams negotiate hard, sign, and move on. Yet everything they need to know is already theirs, written into their own contracts. That knowledge just rarely reaches the right person at the right time,” Cotter stated.

“My ambition is for Juritas to become the intelligence layer safeguarding the value in every contract a business signs. Contracts are the operating system of every business, yet almost no company knows what’s really in theirs. It’s one of the largest blind spots in enterprise software,” she added.

Passion Capital Leads Pre-Seed Funding Round

Passion Capital led the funding round, backed by a syndicate of institutional funds and angel networks. Will Orde, Partner at Passion Capital, highlighted the founder’s track record in scaling early-stage technology ventures across the region.

“Michelle has seen first-hand what it takes to build a category-defining European company, and she’s bringing that ambition to a problem every enterprise has. We’re thrilled to back her from the very start,” Orde said.

Additional participants in the pre-seed round include Blackwood, Araya Ventures, Baseline, Angel Invest, and the byFounders Angel Collective. The fresh injection of capital enables the firm to build the rigorous security protocols and data infrastructure required by large multinational enterprise customers.
