Having spent his formative years in Montgomery County, Gregory suddenly drew nationwide attention following the fatal accident that occurred during a Texas-to-Bahamas trip. For those who knew and loved him, Saturday’s celebration of life offered an opportunity to remember the man behind the headlines.

She noted that her brother dreamed of becoming a pilot from an early age, and flying remained a central part of his life. “It was like breathing to him. He could not have lived without flying,” she said.
Priorities Beyond the Cockpit
Loved ones emphasized that Gregory’s greatest priorities extended far beyond his career, noting that he deeply cherished his family and his faith. “Looking back, I couldn’t have been more blessed to have him as my dad,” his son Kyle Gregory said.
His three children shared memories of a father who, despite a demanding career that often kept him away from home, made the most of the time they shared. “He spent countless hours in the backyard playing baseball with me growing up. He took Tyler fishing whenever he could and Caitlyn on some pretty expensive shopping trips,” Gregory said.
The celebration of life took place at the church Gregory served, reflecting the important role his Christian faith played throughout his life. Friends and family additionally recalled instances when Gregory held onto his faith until the very end, as evidenced by the sound of him reciting the Lord’s Prayer during his final moments.
His son, Tyler Gregory, said that faith was central to the legacy his father leaves behind. “Even in his death, God is magnified,” remarked Gregory while characterizing his dad as an individual molded by spiritual beliefs who left a memorable mark on everybody encountered.
“No matter how long you knew him, you knew he was different. He made an impact everywhere he went,” Gregory said.
“My father was not a warrior; he was prepared. He was flexible and always levelheaded. Who he was did not come naturally. He was formed and shaped by God’s word,” said Gregory.
