ICAI CA Foundation September 2026 Results Out: Kansika, Mahek Gupta Tie for Top Rank

This year’s examination saw an extraordinary performance at the very top. The coveted All India Rank 1 was jointly secured by two candidates: Kansika from Hisar and Mahek Gupta from Hyderabad. This impressive performance translates to a percentage of 90.25%, setting a high bar for their peers.
The second rank was also a shared honor, claimed by Sparsh Khandelwal from Ajmer and J Jayanth from Chennai. They secured 359 marks each, achieving a percentage of 89.75%. Rounding out the top three is Vaibhavi Singhal from Gwalior, who secured the third rank with 358 marks and an overall score of 89.50%.

A total of 1,04,240 candidates appeared for the Foundation exam across 580 centers. Out of this vast pool, only 19,736 candidates managed to pass, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 18.93%.
A closer look at the gender-wise performance reveals a notable disparity. Male candidates outperformed their female counterparts, with a pass percentage of 20.47%. This means 10,931 male candidates passed out of 53,398 who appeared. In contrast, female candidates recorded a pass percentage of 17.32%, with 8,805 out of 50,842 candidates successfully clearing the examination. The results indicate that male candidates outperformed female candidates by 3.15 percentage points this session.

They can appear for the next CA Foundation examination, which is scheduled to be conducted in January 2027. The January exams are set for January 3, 5, 7, and 9, 2027, providing a short window for intense preparation and a chance to redeem their efforts.
To pass the Foundation exam, candidates must secure at least 40% marks in each individual paper and an overall aggregate of 50%.

While the official announcement was scheduled for the evening of November 6, history suggests the portal might be active earlier. As previous sessions have sometimes been published ahead of the initially announced time. For example, the May 2026 results were reportedly available by mid-morning on the scheduled date. Therefore, candidates are advised to check the portal periodically throughout the day.
