In-N-Out Burger CEO Teases Expansion Into Three New States
In-N-Out Burger could soon expand its footprint into Arkansas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma, according to company CEO Lynsi Snyder. In an interview with television host Terry Crews shared on Facebook on October 22 and featured on the company’s website, Snyder discussed the possibility of bringing the California-based fast-food chain to those three states in the coming years.
The potential expansion points from Texas, where In-N-Out first opened locations in 2011—a move Snyder described during her interview with Crews as feeling “very right.” According to USA TODAY, Snyder noted that “There’s some other states … that could be on the way,” specifically identifying Arkansas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma as possibilities.
A Slower Approach to Growth and Maintaining SoCal Roots
In-N-Out waited four decades before expanding outside of California, with the first location outside the state opening in November 1992 in Las Vegas. Since then, the chain has expanded through targeted milestones, including opening a location in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on May 3, 2000; a location in Washington City, Utah, on April 22, 2008; two locations in Allen and Frisco, Texas, along with a warehouse and patty-making facility in Dallas, on May 11, 2011. Despite its gradual national footprint, Snyder emphasized that quality remains a priority over sheer quantity.

“I just want to make sure that everything is right and that our In-N-Out family is strong, and we’re retaining all those values,” Snyder said, pointing to the chain’s emphasis on cleanliness, quality, and service. “If I ever felt like we were slipping or losing our way, growth would look a lot different.”
Snyder also touched on the company’s deliberate pace of development, remarking that “There’s a special peace knowing that In-N-Out isn’t everywhere.” With 299 locations in California, the CEO made it clear that the chain does not intend to abandon its home state. “This is where we started, it’s where we are now and it’s where we’ll always be,” she stated, adding that There’s a very nostalgic, special feel.

Recent Openings and What Lies Ahead
The potential move into Arkansas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma follows a series of steady, measured expansions outside the company’s traditional Western strongholds. Washington state welcomed its first In-N-Out location in August 2025, followed by Tennessee on December 10, 2025. Additionally, the company announced that New Mexico is scheduled to receive its first restaurant in 2027.
While Snyder teased the three states as possibilities during her conversation with Crews, exact timelines and locations for potential openings in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma have not been finalized. USA TODAY reported that inquiries sent to In-N-Out Burger regarding specific details on the potential expansions did not receive a response. Fox News Digital also reached out to In-N-Out for further comment and details.
