Marvel Cosmic Invasion Unveils Castle Doom, A New Roguelike Game Mode

Marvel Cosmic Invasion arrives on November 10, 2026, across multiple consoles and PC platforms with a run-based challenge called Castle Doom for its 1.5 million-player co-op beat ’em up, adding new playable characters and original music.

Publisher Dotemu and developer Tribute Games are bringing a run-based challenge to their arcade-style brawler Marvel Cosmic Invasion via its upcoming paid expansion.

Castle Doom Mechanics and the Cosmic Inductor Threat

Players must infiltrate Victor von Doom’s intimidating fortress before he can successfully power up the Cosmic Inductor. Built originally to stop Annihilus, this imperfect device is now on course to destroy the entire universe as we know it.

Progress through the fortress is measured by a growing Siege Gauge, which fills each time heroes fall in battle. Enemy forces inside the castle grow stronger as the gauge climbs.

Successful skirmishes reward players with batteries that charge a Stabilizer created by Reed Richards. Choosing upgrade paths carefully is required while facing deadly Doom Bots and returning bosses from the base campaign.

Players choose their path through the castle’s winding routes in this run-based action. They thoughtfully select buffs to alter their combat abilities and become an unstoppable powerhouse.

Every victory yields batteries charging up a Stabilizer, stalling Doom’s progress. Specific situations steer the champions into a modified combat arena where standard regulations change temporarily, introducing the possibility of advantageous or detrimental effects based on performance.

Heal gives heroes much needed healing. Infinite provides power-ups where the player can be gifted infinite ammo or infinite focus. Progression allows heroes to collect a random amount of batteries that will fill Reed’s Stabilizer Gauge.

Survive Encounters to Unlock Perks and Upgrades

Surviving encounters allows fighters to gather Battery Cells and complete specific challenges to earn permanent and temporary enhancements. The expansion introduces a perk system featuring 12 different options split across offensive, defensive, and tactical themes.

Successful runs grant powerful buffs and unlock permanent equipment and modifiers in Reed’s Lab. Failed challenges hand out debuffs that weaken fighters.

PlayStation users and players on other platforms can also unlock infinite ammo or focus through special power-up doors scattered throughout the castle. Completing a full run yields a distinct new color palette for each superhero character.

Susan Storm and Doctor Doom Join the Roster

The expansion introduces two prominent characters to the playable roster: The Fantastic Four’s Susan Storm and Doctor Doom himself. The cooperative game’s new promotional video highlights the combat techniques and unique powers of both the Invisible Woman and Doctor Doom.
