Nashville SC Ties MLS Points Record in 3-2 Win Over Red Bull NY

On Nov. 1, 2026, Nashville SC secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Red Bull New York at GEODIS Park, erasing a two-goal deficit in second-half stoppage time to tie the Major League Soccer single-season points record.

A Historic Night at GEODIS Park

The dramatic win brought Nashville to 74 points for the season, matching the single-season points record set by Inter Miami in 2024. The home finale also cemented an unbeaten regular-season record at GEODIS Park, where the Coyotes finished with 15 wins and two draws across 17 matches while outscoring opponents 48-14. They stand as the only side in MLS to record two unbeaten seasons at home, following their 2021 record of 8W-0L-9D.

For nearly forty minutes, however, a milestone seemed entirely out of reach. Red Bull New York surged to a 2-0 lead, needing a victory to keep their Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs hopes alive. Nashville fought back through two RBNY own goals before Sam Surridge netted the game-winner in the 91st minute.

“All year we talk about just being able to respond,” head coach B.J. Callaghan told reporters following the match. “Anything gets thrown at us — we think we score, VAR or whatever — it doesn’t matter. We move on to the next play, and we continue to hunt for goals, and it was what we needed in this game. You gotta give all the guys credit. They just left everything out there.”

Chasing the Record on Decision Day

Having already secured the Supporters’ Shield—adding to their US Open Cup title last year—Nashville now holds the inside track for more history. Captain Hany Mukhtar and his squad head to FC Cincinnati on Decision Day needing just a tie to set a new league points record.

“It’s amazing,” captain Hany Mukhtar said of Sunday’s heroics. “But now we are tied with Miami with the same points, and we have one more game.”

By locking down first place in the table since May, despite a demanding run to the Concacaf Champions Cup semifinals, the Coyotes have earned home-field advantage through the entirety of the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, should they reach the Dec. 18 final. The road to the Dec. 18 final runs directly through Nashville.
