Pokemon Unite to shut down globally in March

Developer TiMi Studio Group and publisher The Pokémon Company will permanently shut down Pokémon Unite on March 23, 2027. Sales of Aeos Gems ended on October 27, 2026.

The shutdown applies globally to all players on both platforms. It renders the software entirely unplayable once the servers go offline at 00:00 UTC on Tuesday, March 23, 2027.

The end-of-service timeline brings a hard stop to a game that first launched on the Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2021. iOS and Android versions followed on September 22, 2021.

Players experienced early warning signs when the title was dropped from the World Championships lineup in July 2026. Set up by TiMi Studios and published by The Pokémon Company using the Unity engine, the title supported cross-platform play across mobile and Nintendo Switch systems.

Existing subscribers can continue utilizing their membership benefits until their current billing period expires or the game closes according to official publisher schedules.

Players holding unused paid Aeos Gems are advised to spend their balances before the servers close. For New Zealand players and international users outside Japan, spending remaining currency remains the primary return guaranteed by regional English-language notices.

Refund policies for non-Japanese purchases remain unmentioned on global support pages.

Conversely, Japanese players have been instructed not to uninstall mobile applications. They must also not delete Nintendo Switch software data until official refund procedures for unused paid balances are finalized after service terminates as detailed by regional announcements.

Final Update Introduces Farewell Event and Offline Library Scrapbook

A final major update arrives on Thursday, November 12, 2026. It introduces a farewell event and a permanent local record viewer called the Library feature.

Pokemon Unite is officially Shutting Down in 2027

The update implements a Unite Coin Exchange alongside special login bonuses and match missions. Participants can acquire previously released Holowear, Trainer fashion items, and Unite licenses by winning ranked and standard matches.

Because the game will become entirely unplayable without online servers, the Library feature acts as a persistent offline scrapbook. Trainers who complete the required local asset download before the March deadline can use the tool to view their owned licenses, battle achievements, tournament participation records, and Holowear even after servers shut down.

Players are encouraged to finish merging boost emblems and leveling up held items by Tuesday, March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC.

Even after service ends, players who complete the required library data download before Tuesday, March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC will be able to use the library feature to view certain records and in-game content. Players who do not complete the required download before service ends will not be able to use the library feature afterward.

Developers have cautioned that Library data cannot be transferred between devices. Failing to perform the download prior to the server closure means all local records will be permanently lost.

After service ends, video and image content guidelines for online platforms will no longer be published or maintained. Support regarding the use of game videos and images will cease.
