RFK Jr. Keynotes Make America Healthy Again Rally in Des Moines

RFK Jr. Keynotes Des Moines MAHA Rally With Focus on Water and Food Safety

Cleaning up Iowa water, growing food for human consumption, and forbidding vaccine mandates took center stage Wednesday night as U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Junior, keynoted a Make America Healthy Again rally in suburban Des Moines, KSCJ 1360 reported. As the leader of the MAHA movement, Kennedy addressed an audience focused heavily on public health policies, agricultural practices, and state-level political endorsements.

Kennedy focused part of his address on agricultural chemicals, highlighting concerns over glyphosate, a widely used farm chemical. “Or anybody else,” Kennedy said according to audio clips provided by KSCJ 1360.

The event also served as a platform for state political endorsements. Republican candidate for governor Zach Lahn appeared as the first candidate endorsed by the MAHA Political Action Committee this year. Addressing the crowd, Lahn framed several pressing state issues through the lens of the movement.

Addressing Iowa’s water quality and the state’s cancer crisis and promoting healthy food in school lunches are all pro-life issues.

Lahn told attendees that tackling these problems locally could serve as a model for the rest of the country.

Measles Protests Outside the Venue

While supporters filled the rally space to hear the keynote address and regional platform announcements, a small group gathered outside in the parking lot to voice opposition. The demonstrators specifically protested efforts to get rid of vaccine mandates. Protestors pointed to the 40 cases of measles that have been confirmed in Iowa so far this year – four times as many as last year, as reported by Radio Iowa.
