Rob Gronkowski and Celebrities Boost New Hampshire Voter Turnout

Sports stars join Turning Point Action at New Hampshire polling sites

New England Patriots Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski appeared outside a Bedford High School polling location on Election Day, joining a group of high-profile athletes participating in a get-out-the-vote campaign across New Hampshire, WMTW reported.

Gronkowski was accompanied by his girlfriend, model Camille Kostek, as they posed for photographs with voters and their families. The celebrity presence is part of a coordinated effort by the conservative political advocacy group Turning Point Action to drive voter turnout in the Granite State.

The initiative is not limited to football players. Other notable figures spotted at various locations include two-time Super Bowl champion wide receiver Danny Amendola, who was seen outside Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, and boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., who posed for photos outside Alvirne High School in Hudson. Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer Kevin Youkilis was also present at a polling place in Hampstead.

Turning Point Action targets low-propensity voters

The deployment of these athletes aligns with a specific strategy by Turning Point Action to influence the election through its “Commit to Chase 100 Ballots” initiative. According to the organization, the program focuses on mobilizing low-propensity voters—individuals who do not typically participate in every election cycle.

New Hampshire has emerged as a primary theater for the group’s midterm and general election work. In October, CNN reported that the state has become a “centerpiece” of Turning Point Action’s efforts. To support the on-the-ground push, the organization also established tents outside various polling locations to assist with their outreach.

Many residents in the state received text messages prior to Election Day that teased the arrival of these celebrities at local polling stations, suggesting a deliberate attempt to use name recognition to increase engagement at the polls.

While the presence of sports legends can create significant local excitement, the strategic goal remains the conversion of celebrity visibility into actual ballot casting among specific voter demographics. The success of such high-visibility tactics often depends on whether the enthusiasm generated by a brief encounter with a public figure translates into the sustained effort required to navigate the voting process.
