New Jersey’s outdoor community is gathering for a one-night benefit event to support Winter4Kids and The Hession Foundation, featuring a screening of Teton Gravity Research’s latest film, Actually, It Is Rocket Science. The evening kicks off at 6 p.m. with a lobby opening where attendees can connect with local outdoor organizations and partners before the main feature begins.
By combining a film screening with an event for the outdoor community, the benefit supports Winter4Kids and The Hession Foundation.
Teton Gravity Research brings the fall line to New Jersey
The centerpiece of the evening is the screening of Actually, It Is Rocket Science. Produced by Teton Gravity Research (TGR), the film frames the act of skiing as a scientific pursuit, treating mountains as laboratories and every descent as an experiment. The production captures some of the world’s best skiers navigating extreme terrain across a global map.
The film’s scope is expansive, featuring footage from:
- Bute Inlet, British Columbia and Haines, Alaska
- Japan, Finland, and Andorra
- Montana, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Jay Peak, Vermont
For the local community, the screening is more than just a cinematic experience; it is a fundraising vehicle. The event includes prizes and giveaways throughout the night, including lift tickets, vouchers, snowboards, and gift cards. One of the high-value draws is the chance to win a day of Catskiing with Vahalla-Baldace.
Bridging the gap in winter sports access
The funds raised from the benefit support Winter4Kids and The Hession Foundation.
The event brings together Teton Gravity Research and the missions of Winter4Kids and The Hession Foundation.
