Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya Begin Final Dune: Part Three Promo Run

Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya are making what looks like their final promotional run together for Dune: Part Three, the closing chapter of Denis Villeneuve’s science-fiction trilogy, which opens in theaters and IMAX on December 18, with select insider screenings beginning December 14. A new video the pair recorded for Chinese fans has sent social media into a frenzy — part celebration, part mourning.

One fan wrote Baby wake up the last dune press ever with both timmy and zendaya has officially started, while another captured the ache of it: the start of the end [broken heart emoji] missed them a lot tho. Others simply cheered — ITS REALLY STARTING GUYS THE BEST THING EVER ITS STARTING — and Guys we so back it’s not even funny. In the video, Zendaya greets viewers before Chalamet announces that the third film arrives in China soon.

Growing up in public, together

Chalamet reflected that most people grow up alongside friends from childhood or their teenage years — but with Zendaya, the two began working together right at the end of their youth and the start of adulthood, a timing he suggested gave their on-screen bond its own unique weight.

Zendaya has described the series in strikingly similar terms. At a March trailer launch event, she told People that the Dune films held deep meaning for her across the years, adding that she had basically spent her entire 20s growing up while making them.

The final chapter carries extra meaning for Chalamet personally. During a Variety and CNN town hall at the University of Texas with Matthew McConaughey moderating, he explained that this would be his last Dune film, so he felt it should be treated as sacred. He described the new movie as the eeriest one yet and a big swing, approached with more intensity than the first two films.

An emperor, a conspiracy and a cast built for goodbye

The story adapts Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah, with Villeneuve co-writing the screenplay alongside Brian K. Vaughan. In the film, Paul and Chani’s bond is tested to its breaking point: as a ruthless Emperor, Paul must confront the fallout of his rule while old allies return, new dangers arise, and a plot develops around Chani.

The final trailer has already shown Robert Pattinson’s Scytale and Zendaya’s Chani trying to kill Paul, and Chalamet has teased an older Paul shaped by years of leadership. As the series concludes, the cast has also recalled the desert shoots and the story’s moral weight.
