Star wide receiver Chris Marshall will not play for the Arkansas Razorbacks against No. 23 Missouri on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, after entering pregame warmups in sweatpants.
Arkansas football head coach Ryan Silverfield and offensive coordinator Tim Cramsey both expressed early-week optimism regarding Marshall’s recovery from a right leg injury. However, the team officially listed its leading pass-catcher as a game-time decision on the final SEC Availability Report released 90 minutes before kickoff.
The Sidelined Playmaker and His Impact
Marshall suffered the injury during the first quarter against Vanderbilt on Oct. 17, missing a significant portion of the first half before exiting for good following a 28-yard gain on a screen pass late in the second quarter. Prior to the setback, the Boise State transfer established himself as one of the most productive receivers nationally, hauling in 633 receiving yards to rank 23rd in the country.

“Chris looked good,” Cramsey said on Tuesday, Oct. 27. “He’s out running his routes, what he can do, we’re not pushing, pushing, you know. But he’s out running routes. He had an unbelievable attitude, positive attitude on everything he does.”
Adjusting the Roster Against Missouri
Without their top target, the Razorbacks (3-4, 1-3 SEC) turn to depth pieces to handle the offensive load against a formidable Missouri squad (5-2, 2-2). Sophomore Antonio Jordan stepped up notably in Marshall’s absence, setting career highs with five catches for 74 yards.

Other roster updates ahead of kickoff include running back Braylen Russell, tight end Jaden Platt, and defensive lineman Caleb Bell, all of whom were listed as probable. Meanwhile, center Caden Kitler, recently benched in favor of Kash Courtney, has been ruled out entirely.
| Player | Position | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Chris Marshall | Wide Receiver | Game-time decision |
| Caden Kitler | Offensive Lineman | Out |
| Braydon Lee | Defensive Back | Out |
| Maddox Lassiter | Tight End | Out |
| Gavin Garretson | Tight End | Out |
On the opposing sideline, Missouri running back Ahmad Hardy is expected to make his season debut against Arkansas. Hardy missed the first seven games of the year while recovering from a gunshot wound to the thigh sustained in May in Laurel, Mississippi. Missouri enters the matchup with its own availability report listing running back Malae Fonoti, offensive lineman Josh Atkins, and tight end Gavin Hoffman as out.
