Fossil Launches Signature CS-1 Swiss Watch Collection in India

Fossil has launched its Swiss-made Signature CS-1 watch collection in India, marking a strategic pivot toward the premium horology market. The new line, which debuted at Jaipur’s City Palace, features two models priced at ₹57,995 and ₹75,995, and introduces Sawai Padmanabh Singh as the brand’s global ambassador.

The Signature CS-1 Collection and Swiss Craftsmanship

The Signature CS-1, an abbreviation for Case Study One, draws direct inspiration from the American Case Study Houses program. The collection emphasizes material integrity and purposeful, mid-century design. This initiative represents a milestone in Fossil’s expansion within India’s premium watch category, signaling a return to Swiss watchmaking that builds upon more than two decades of the company’s presence and expertise in Switzerland.

The debut range consists of two distinct watch models:

  • Three-Hand Date Automatic: A 38mm model powered by a Swiss automatic movement, featuring an exhibition caseback that reveals the Swiss Sellita SW200-1 movement, a customized Signature rotor, and a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. It is priced at ₹57,995.
  • Master Calendar Chronoquartz: A 42mm model featuring day, date, month, and chronograph functions with a Swiss quartz movement, priced at ₹75,995.

Both models incorporate domed sapphire crystals and textured dials. At the 12 o’clock position, the watches feature the Triple Diamond Quality insignia, a reference to the brand’s past, present, and future, while a trapezoidal date window occupies the six o’clock position. The automatic model is water-resistant to 100 meters.

Sawai Padmanabh Singh as Global Ambassador

Signature introduces a new chapter of watchmaking for FOSSIL, bringing our American design heritage together with Swiss craftsmanship. Every detail reflects our commitment to purposeful, enduring design. His Highness Sawai Padmanabh Singh was a natural choice to represent the collection because he honors heritage while expressing it in a way that feels personal and contemporary.

Regarding the association, Singh remarked, I have always appreciated products that honor heritage while remaining relevant to the present, and that is exactly what I found in the Signature Collection. He added that the brand’s legacy of craftsmanship and the collection’s thoughtful details align with his own personal style.

Brand Targets Consumers Seeking Higher-End Mechanical Timepieces

Fossil is positioning the range around craftsmanship and material integrity as it targets consumers seeking higher-end watches. The company noted that it does not intend to create a completely different consumer base or a separate DNA for the Signature collection. Instead, it views the line as an extension of its existing identity, offering more elaborate construction and Swiss-made credentials to an audience that has become increasingly exposed to independent watchmakers and a wide variety of mechanical timepieces.
