Supermodel Heidi Klum marked the 25th anniversary of her annual Halloween celebration on October 31, 2026, by arriving at the New York City venue as a giant, bloodied severed hand, complete with intricate practical creature effects and high-fashion jewelry.
Inside the Eight-Foot Severed Hand at Cathédrale Restaurant
Heidi Klum arrived at Cathédrale Restaurant at Moxy East Village in New York City on October 31, 2026, for her milestone 25th anniversary Halloween party. Bypassing traditional glamour, the 53-year-old supermodel stepped out enclosed inside an eight-foot prosthetic left hand.
The towering structure featured pointed oxblood-lacquered nails and a gory wrist stump detailed with shredded striated tendons, exposed bone marrow, and dripping stage blood. A parasitic face was sculpted directly into the back of the hand, complete with weeping eyeholes, exposed muscle tissue, and a gaping circular mouth filled with irregular, rotten teeth. Klum navigated the blue carpet entirely from inside the hollow harness, communicating through the monster’s gnashing central maw while accessorizing the grotesque limb with an oversized textured gold ring featuring a massive emerald-cut green gemstone.
Prosthetic Engineering and the Mike Marino Collaboration
The build required months of planning, sculpting, and engineering by Oscar-nominated prosthetics designer Mike Marino alongside his Prosthetic Renaissance crew. Klum began ideating the concept about a year prior, even before her Medusa costume in 2025.

The designers utilized existing body scans of the supermodel to construct an exact anatomical replica of her hand. Marino described the project as one of the most complicated
builds of his career, requiring a load-bearing internal skeleton capable of balancing on simulated fingertips without collapsing.
We wanted everything to be as realistic as possible—the anatomy, the veins, the muscles, all the little details that make a hand look like a real hand.

The costume also featured personal touches, including a recreation of her engagement ring, wedding band, and finger tattoo. A team of assistants joined her on the red carpet dressed in blood-spattered yellow Hazmat decontamination suits, industrial respirator masks, and rubber gloves, periodically brandishing a large medical syringe to theatrically feed the monster’s oral cavity.
Social Media Teases and Fan Reactions
Ahead of the event, Klum shared macro video clips and photographs of glistening silicone textures and bloody cotton swabs on social media, prompting speculation that she might dress as a fungal zombie from The Last of Us or the character Monstro Elisasue
from The Substance. Instead, she debuted an original body-horror design.

On Instagram, she published a reveal video captioned “TALK TO THE HAND [hand emoji] #HeidiHalloween 2026 HERE WE GO”. Followers responded on social media platforms, with one commenting, I love it and hate it so much. I mean, she’s a beautiful supermodel; she could easily take the sexy route, but she chooses to go the complete opposite end.
Love it.

This is truly incredible. When she took a couple steps, I had the surreal sense I was watching actual fingers moving. The realism is so astounding it makes me wonder how much it cost. Has to be major big budget movie level makeup.

Celebrity guests including Questlove, Jade Thirlwall, Karen Mulder, and Taylor Momsen attended the New York venue. While her husband, Tom Kaulitz, was absent due to a tour, Klum noted that A little bit of Tom is with me
via the replica wedding band on her finger.
