Microsoft Rewards and Benevity Facilitate Charitable Contributions for Wichita Children’s Home

Children and youth across Wichita are receiving emergency shelter, protective custody care, and crisis support through an ongoing digital donation pathway linking Microsoft Rewards points to the Wichita Children’s Home. rewards.bing.com reported that Microsoft partners with Benevity to handle these charitable donations, allowing users to redeem their earned Microsoft points for cash contributions directed to eligible nonprofits.

The Wichita Children’s Home provides emergency shelter and care for infants, children, and youth placed in protective custody due to abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness, exploitation, and human trafficking, according to the organization’s primary site (wch.org). Thousands more young people rely on the facility’s Street Outreach Services, high school risk reduction workshops, teen crisis support through the National Safe Place Network, and housing and case management for homeless youth.

How Microsoft Rewards Points Convert to Grants

When a user chooses to redeem Microsoft Rewards points for the Wichita Children’s Home, the points deduction happens immediately from the user’s account. rewards.bing.com explained that within six weeks after the end of the redemption month, Microsoft issues a cash donation based on those points to a donor-advised fund at the Benevity UK Online Giving Foundation (OGF).

Benevity UK Online Giving Foundation then recommends a corresponding grant to the user’s selected nonprofit organization. OGF assumes exclusive legal control of Microsoft’s donation on the donor’s behalf, and all donation redemptions are strictly non-refundable.

If a chosen nonprofit loses its eligibility or cannot receive the funds, rewards.bing.com noted that the cash donation redirects to a nonprofit of Microsoft’s choosing. Microsoft does not officially endorse any of the participating nonprofits.
